Enjoy the rustic simplicity of whitewashed adobe walls and handmade Saltillo tile floors in our easy-access room, conveniently located adjacent to the inn's Great room. Roughhewn plank and beam ceilings add to the austere turn-of-the-century hacienda charm. Reproduction leather chairs flank a cozy tiled fireplace, while French doors lead to a private stone courtyard. The comfy queen sized bed features hand carved wooden posts and hand-wrought iron accents. Period lamps create soft lighting throughout. The bathroom features an open walk-in shower, stained glass accents and creative handmade tile work. No extra beds allowed in this room. Sleeps 2.
The Molesworth
:
This spacious and surprising room features the unmistakable "High Style Cowboy" design of 1930?s Western craftsman, Thomas Molesworth. The dramatic crossed-beam ceiling and solid log columns flank a queen-sized bed with built-in headboard. The bed is dressed with soft Native American blanket and pillow coverings by Wooded River, and striking leather accent pillows. Distinctive Molesworth furniture designs are seen throughout the room, including a large lounge chair and ottoman covered in Native American blanket work. A large armoire of hand tooled red leather faces the bed, and a leather and hide full-sized sleeper sofa can accommodate extra guests. The Garden Court

The unique garden charm of this room starts at the front entrance. The stained glass door depicting nature scenes opens into a comfortable seating area featuring a twin-sized sleeper sofa perfect for an extra guest. The dramatic canopied king-sized bed is dressed in charming florals and is flanked by wicker garden furniture. To warm your evenings, a beehive corner fireplace is decorated with hand painted floral accents. The natural plank and beam ceiling adds to the inviting garden feel of this room, and French doors open onto a charming and secluded private "grotto garden." The Arts and Crafts

The circular entry foyer leads into the distinctive main room, which is constructed with the only vega and latilla ceiling at El Portal. The king-sized bed is dressed with handmade appliquéd linens by Brunetti Textiles, reminiscent of designs by Rennie Mackintosh and others. French doors lead to a generous private courtyard. The Flatrock Hickory

This extraordinary space feels like a suite of several rooms. The unusual vaulted ceilings and flagstone floors serve as a dramatic backdrop for rustic hickory furnishings and vintage Western coverings on the king-sized bed. The step-down sitting room features a twin-sized built-in daybed that can accommodate an extra guest. The bed faces a glass door, which opens onto a charming semicircular patio and spacious private courtyard. The bath features a high vaulted wood beam ceiling, a freestanding pedestal whirlpool tub with corner windows overlooking garden views, and a variety of slate tile and mosaic detail on the separate shower and throughout. The Hile
:
This lighthearted suite is decorated in the Early California/Monterey style with furnishings created by artist and renowned furniture designer Warren Hile. The rustic and distinctive room features a river rock fireplace with plastered adobe hearth and banco, which wraps around a large and airy bay window and door with private entry garden court beyond. The king-sized bed is dressed in charming vintage cowboy themes, echoed in the bedside lamps and artwork. The bath features a shower with adobe surround, stained glass accents and a whirlpool claw-foot tub. The Grand Canyon

The random flagstone floor runs throughout the space, which includes a twin-sized daybed that is perfect for an extra guest. Enjoy breathtaking views from the private patio. The Juniper

The Rim View

One of our largest suites, this second story room offers a generous corner of bay windows with lovely views of the distant Rim through Oak Creek area treetops.
